As a member of the Women’s Bar Association (WBA) and an experienced trial attorney, Pietrowicz is now providing pro bono legal representation to low-income seniors with her involvement in Women’s Bar Foundation’s (WBF) Elder Law Project. Each pro bono attorney must first complete WBF’s comprehensive training in the area of elder law in order to assist those clients with the best knowledge and representation possible.
Attorney Pietrowicz’s experience as a personal injury lawyer has provided her first-hand understanding of the importance in assisting those in need.
The Elder Law Project’s (ELP) two-fold mission is to educate low-income seniors about the importance of having end-of-life documents such as wills, health care proxies, durable powers of attorney and living wills – and to prepare these documents on a pro bono basis.
The ELP makes presentations at senior centers and low-income elderly housing developments to explain the purpose and importance of these end-of-life documents. Interested seniors are matched with a volunteer attorney who will prepare the documents.
