SUGARMAN is proud to announce that Principal Marianne C. LeBlanc has been selected as a 2026 Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Hall of Fame Honoree. The Hall of Fame recognizes distinguished Massachusetts attorneys with more than 30 years in practice for their career accomplishments, contributions to the law and the bar, and efforts to improve the quality of justice in Massachusetts.
Since joining SUGARMAN in 1993, Marianne has represented individuals and families in complex personal injury cases throughout Massachusetts. She joined the firm after graduating from Boston College Law School and became a Principal in 1999. Marianne has achieved significant verdicts, arbitration awards, and settlements for clients in cases involving medical malpractice, premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, liquor liability, sexual assault, and other serious personal injury matters.
Marianne’s contributions extend well beyond the courtroom. She is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and has held numerous leadership positions within the Massachusetts legal community. She has served as Chair of the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers, President of the Women’s Bar Association of Massachusetts, and President of the Women’s Bar Foundation. She serves as Massachusetts Governor for the American Association for Justice and has been actively involved in organizations and initiatives dedicated to strengthening the legal profession and expanding access to justice.
Marianne has consistently been recognized by her peers for her trial advocacy and leadership. She has been named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer every year since the recognition began in 2004 and has repeatedly been included among the Top 100 Massachusetts Super Lawyers and Top 50 Women Massachusetts Super Lawyers, including being named among the Top 10 Massachusetts Super Lawyers in 2025. She has also been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® since 2005, receiving Lawyer of the Year honors in 2022 and 2026. Earlier this year, she received the 2026 Pro Bono Award from the Bar Association of Norfolk County.
