When Were the Recalled Vehicles Sold and What is the Fire Hazard?
The recalled vehicles were sold from December 2022 through March 2023. The issue involves the fuel cap. The fuel can leak from under, causing a fire hazard. If you have one of the recalled vehicles, you should immediately stop using it and contact an authorized John Deere dealer for a free inspection and repair. Luckily, no injuries relating to this product defect have been reported to date.
Unfortunately, this is not always the case. According to the United States Product Safety Commission, there were an estimated 346,800 fires caused by consumer products in the U.S. just in 2019. These tragically resulted in 2,490 deaths, 11,760 injuries, and $7.38 billion in property losses. This is just one of the reasons that it is important to pay attention to product recalls to ensure the safety of you and your loved ones – especially any product recalls involving risk of fire.
