Cardiac arrest following cosmetic surgery
Settlement of medical malpractice claim for husband and minor children of 41-year-old woman who died following cardiac arrest immediately after undergoing cosmetic tumescent liposuction and an autologous fat transfer to the buttocks, otherwise known as a “Brazilian Butt Lift” or “BBL” at a cosmetic surgery center in Worcester County. SUGARMAN attorneys alleged that the defendant surgeon breached the applicable standard of care in failing to have the requisite level of emergency preparedness and in failing to provide adequate critical care to the patient after the patient suffered complications during the surgery.
