22,100 “Manhattan Ball” toys have been recalled by the Manhattan Toy Company this week due to reports that it presents a choking hazard to young children. The teething toys, which are made in China, were sold exclusively at Target stores nationwide and online from July 2019 through June 2020 for about $10 each. Apparently, the toy’s plastic tubes can detach from the center ball and release small silicone teethers threaded on the tubes, posing a threat to toddlers around America. So far the company has received six reports of the plastic tubes detaching from the center ball. Two of the reports mentioned a silicone teether detaching from the toy, and one report involved an incident of a child chewing on the silicone teether after it separated from the toy.

Parents should immediately remove the recalled toys from the vicinity of children and contact Manhattan Toy or return it to any Target Store for a full refund.

Manhattan Toy can be reached at 800-541-1345 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT Monday through Thursday. Email at help@manhattantoy.com, or visit online at http://www.manhattantoy.com and click on ‘Recall Information’ for more information, per the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
